Queensland’s First Ultra-Class Tyre Training Facility
Purpose-built practical training for mining tyre fitters, contractors and partner RTOs, delivered on real ultra-class equipment in a controlled training environment.
GRB provides a dedicated heavy-duty tyre training facility designed for real-world mining conditions. With five ultra-class machines configured for tyre removal and fitment, multiple rim assemblies and practical training areas, the facility gives trainees exposure to the scale, hazards and procedures of mine-site tyre work before they enter the field.
Ultra-class tyre training facility.
Configured for tyre removal and fitment training.
Including double gutter and five-piece rim assemblies.
Built to support practical training and competency delivery.
A practical training facility built for industry delivery.
GRB’s facility is designed to support hands-on tyre training for mining operations, contractors, trainers and RTO partners. While GRB is progressing toward its own RTO registration, training can be facilitated through approved subcontractors and partner RTO arrangements.
Partner or Client Enquiry
Mining companies, contractors or RTO partners contact GRB to discuss training requirements, equipment exposure and competency outcomes.
Facility-Based Practical Training
Trainees complete practical training using ultra-class machines, tyre handling equipment and multiple rim and wheel assembly types in a controlled environment.
Competency Evidence & Next Steps
Completion records, practical evidence, VOC outcomes or RTO-issued documentation can be managed according to the delivery arrangement.
Nationally recognised outcomes, Statements of Attainment or qualifications are only issued where training is delivered under an approved RTO arrangement.
Complete pathways and focused short course delivery.
The facility supports both complete competency pathways and shorter gap/refresher training depending on the trainee’s experience, employer requirements and RTO delivery model.
Full Competency Pathway
For new or developing tyre fitters requiring a complete practical pathway toward heavy-duty tyre competency.
This pathway is suited to trainees who need structured exposure to mining tyre work, ultra-class equipment, rim assemblies and safe tyre fitment procedures. It can support Certificate II–aligned training where delivered through a partner RTO arrangement.
- Suitable for new or developing tyre fitters
- Practical exposure to ultra-class tyre removal and fitment
- Training around OTR tyres, wheel assemblies and rim safety
- Can align with AUR21920 Certificate II pathways where delivered by an approved RTO
- Practical evidence and competency sign-off options
- Client/site-specific procedure integration available
Short Course / Gap Competency / VOC
For experienced workers who need focused practical assessment, refresher training or gap training.
This pathway is designed for workers who already have tyre fitting experience but need refresher training, verification of competency, site-specific familiarisation or practical exposure to specific rim and equipment types.
- Suitable for experienced tyre fitters and contractors
- Practical refresher training on ultra-class equipment
- VOC-style assessment options
- Gap training for specific rim types or tyre handling procedures
- Useful for mobilisation, site readiness and compliance evidence
- Can be adapted to client requirements
Certificate II Pathway Support
AUR21920 Certificate II in Automotive Tyre Servicing Technology is the Australian qualification commonly associated with tyre servicing and tyre fitting pathways, including heavy vehicle, earthmoving and off-the-road tyre applications. GRB’s facility is designed to support the practical training environment required for heavy-duty and mining tyre competency.
Where nationally recognised outcomes are required, training and assessment must be delivered under an approved RTO arrangement. GRB can support partner RTOs and approved trainers with access to practical equipment, machinery and facility infrastructure.
Built for real mining tyre work.
Unlike classroom-only training, GRB’s facility is configured around the equipment, scale and practical hazards found in mining tyre operations. Trainees can work around large machinery, OTR tyres and rim assemblies in a controlled environment before applying those skills on site.
Five Ultra-Class Training Machines
Five separate ultra-class machines configured for practical tyre removal and fitment training.
Multiple Rim Assemblies
Training exposure across multiple rim and wheel assembly types, including double gutter and five-piece rim configurations.
Controlled Practical Environment
A dedicated facility that allows trainers and trainees to focus on technique, safety, procedure and competency without live production pressure.
Mine-Ready Training Context
Training designed around the realities of mining operations, including equipment scale, exclusion zones, tooling, tyre handlers and site procedure awareness.
Partner RTO Access
Facility access available for RTO partners, subcontracted trainers and mining clients requiring practical delivery infrastructure.
Custom Client Delivery
Training can be adapted around client SOPs, site requirements, equipment types and competency expectations.
Rim, wheel and tyre assembly training.
The facility supports practical training around multiple rim and tyre assembly types used in heavy-duty mining environments. This includes exposure to large OTR tyres, wheel assemblies, five-piece rim configurations, double gutter rim arrangements and other rim types used across ultra-class equipment.
Double Gutter Rim Training
Identification, inspection & fitment
Practical exposure to double gutter rim arrangements, including identification, inspection awareness and safe assembly procedures.
Five-Piece Rim Assembly Training
Component & assembly awareness
Hands-on training across five-piece rim configurations, component identification and correct assembly sequence in a controlled environment.
Ultra-Class OTR Tyre Fitment
Removal & fitment procedures
